About us

Our Mission

Diving is our passion and the underwater world is close to our hearts. For us, this means sharing the dive experience in a respectful and environmentally friendly way to protect nature and the underwater world. We promise highest quality standard, and would like to invite you, to discover La Palma and its special underwater world with us. We are determent to pass on our enthusiasm and passion for diving to our clients. Our mall groups will enhance your scuba diving experience. It is our desire, to offer the highest level of customer satisfaction and professionalism, in an intimate and cozy atmosphere.

Our Dive Center

Our dive center is subject to this very high quality standard as well. With a total area of 230 m², it is far larger than the average Canarian dive center. Our facilities offer everything you expect from a top notch scuba diving facility: sufficient space for customer equipment, dive luggage storage, lounge, training facilities, workshop and more. Founded in 1996, “Tauchpartner La Palma” is the oldest scuba dive base on the island. Georg Mahon and Barbara Wolters, two biologists, took over the business in December 2005 and changed the dive base completely. New facilities, new premises as well as new equipment, were the most important changes. We do not compromise with the quality of air. While filling the tanks, the air quality is continuously monitored by a Bauer compressor, equipped with a Securussystem. Our dive shop is just across from one of La Palmas premier beaches, surrounded by the local reef with an intact underwater world.

Our Competence

After graduating, Barbara and Georg have worked in senior positions in management and consulting for over 15 years. To their guests, they provide professional know-how, combined with a strong customer service mentality, as well as strong diving skills . Many of them return to the island on a regular base as friends. Georg started diving in 1987 while studying biology at the University of Bochum. Exploring many locations around the world, he discovered the Eastern Atlantic and Canary Islands in 1991. He appreciated especially the underwater landscape of La Palma in connection with the little known dive spots. Even after having logged more than 6000 hours under water, he is still looking forward to every single dive and to discover something new. As a marine biologist, he is interested in anything under water, from small shrimps to large fishes to geological formations.

Whenever we get the opportunity, we explore new dive sites to extend the range of our dive portfolio. Scientifically interesting projects arise again and again. Counting stocks of Pajaudina Atlantica (a type of brachiopod) in conjunction with the Humboldt University Berlin, or mapping rare organisms such as Palythoa Caribaeorum, a rare crustation anemone. We support the Canary Island government’s project, to control the Diadem sea urchins with being committed to the reef site in Puerto Naos.

As a PADI Master scuba diver trainer, CMAS 3* instructor and IAC instructor trainer, students can expect highest quality for beginners as well as in their advanced education. Our team members are carefully selected and trained, according to our high standards in working as guides and instructors for our dive base. We are training our dive students in accordance with the guidelines to the largest instructor organizations worldwide. We offer courses from beginner to instructor level by professionally trained and nationally recognized instructors. Safe and responsible diving are the most important issues of our training.

Barbara, also a biology graduate, is responsible for administration, management and organisation “on land”. For our guests she organizes almost everything with the motto” anything is possible”. Our service includes booking of apartments as well as rental cars directly from the Airport. Arranging accommodation through us, helps to avoid possible disappointment, choosing by brochures only. With local knowledge, we can give you recommendations for activities “out of the water” as well. Biking, hiking, paragliding, just relaxing and eating well, are some of them. We want your scuba diving vacation to be a completely positive experience. This we guarantee with our team.
